Last week I ordered two polishes from a newer indie polish maker, Sue Me Lacquer. Sue Me Lacquer is still pretty new to the indie polish community, but I’ve already heard some enthusiasm for her polishes from different people in the nail art community and decided to take the plunge. I am so, so happy that I did!
First, the polishes…
Sue Me Lacquer makes 5-free, vegan and cruelty free polishes. I believe that some, but not all, have fragrances added to it.
Eat My Fairy Dust
Eat My Fairy Dust is a beautiful pink polish that shimmers gold in the light. In the bottle the color looks more bubblegum pink with gold glitter, but upon application, the color was more of a peachy/coral pink. I loved that the color ended up being more peachy, as my skin tone tends to favor the orangey pinks and reds. This polish had added fragrances that caused it to have a sweet, cupcake like, scent. The formula itself was easy to work with, and wasn’t too thick or thin. I used 2 coats of the polish and 1 coat of top coat to really bring out the shimmer.
I was a little hesitant to buy this particular shade since the online store (storenvy) didn’t have a swatched picture of this polish, but in the end I was very happy with the color I received.
Ruby Kisses
Ruby Kisses was by far my absolute favorite of the two polishes I had ordered. Ruby Kisses is a raspberry jelly that is filled with holo glitter. I only needed about 2-3 coats (without a base) for my preferred opacity. The color is gorgeous. The glitter…oh my the glitter…I could not stop waving my hand in the sunlight! The holo was absolutely perfect! The formula was a bit on the thick side, but I was still able to work with it. I think the key for this one is to make sure that each layer is dry before adding the next.
Out of curiosity I decided to do another swatch of Ruby Kisses on top of a dark purple polish. I opted to not do a black base purely because I really wanted to bring out the purple that was already there. I decided to use OPI’s Vampsterdam as my base, and used one layer of Ruby Kisses on top. Oh. My. Goodness! The effect was awesome! I typically don’t wear a particular mani for more than one or two days, but I can’t bring myself to change this one yet (we’re going on day 4 here folks).
Sue Me Lacquer Store and Service Review
Like I said earlier, Sue Me Lacquer is pretty new. I believe her store opened this past January. You can find Sue Me Lacquer on Storenvy and on Etsy depending on your shopping preferences. The Etsy store has more pictures of each product.
Sue Me Lacquer’s customer service is pretty amazing. Within a couple of hours of placing my order, I received a personal email from Susan of Sue Me Lacquer thanking me for my purchase, informing me of the estimated shipment date, and telling me about the awesome raffle giveaway that she’s hosting. My nail mail arrived a couple of days earlier than expected (yay!), and it was packaged in an adorable bubble wrap mailer. Inside, Susan had the bottles all made up in a beautiful gold chiffon baggie. I had to post one of the MANY pics I took of the packaging. It was so gorgeous!
I definitely recommend trying out Sue Me Lacquer if you haven’t already. She’s running some pretty awesome promotions at her stores right now, so hurry while she still has some pretties in stock!

Oh my goodness! I love Ruby Kisses and Vampsterdam. I might have to go out and get that polish combination!
